I am proud to have been the first student to enroll in the Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center’s (CTC) Electricity Level 3 program. This milestone marked a significant step not only in my educational journey but also in the growth of the program itself. Being a trailblazer in this advanced course allowed me to set a standard for future students while enhancing my skills and knowledge in electrical systems, safety, and innovative technologies. The program provided me with hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the trade, which has been invaluable in my professional development.
Following my time as a student, I was honored to join the CTC Electricity Advisory Board. Serving in this role allows me to give back to the program that shaped my career. I collaborate with educators and industry professionals to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and prepares students for real-world challenges. Being part of the board also gives me the opportunity to mentor aspiring electricians and contribute ideas to enhance their learning experience. This journey—from being the first student in the Level 3 program to influencing its future—has been incredibly rewarding and reinforces my commitment to the electrical trade and technical education.

Becoming the youngest supervisor at AFM Cable has been one of the most rewarding and defining milestones in my career. This role has given me the opportunity to not only showcase my skills but also demonstrate my ability to lead and contribute to the success of a team, despite my young age. Breaking into a position typically held by individuals with years of experience required hard work, determination, and a commitment to continuous learning.
In this role, I am responsible for overseeing projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to the highest standard. I manage teams of skilled professionals, delegate tasks, and troubleshoot challenges to maintain smooth operations. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with my team, especially as I’ve had to prove that age is no barrier to capability.
What I take pride in the most is the trust and respect I’ve earned from both my colleagues and leadership. My ability to stay organized, solve problems quickly, and maintain a positive work environment has helped me grow into a confident leader. This achievement motivates me to continue pushing boundaries and sets the foundation for future growth in my career.
